About Big River Raft Trips
Big River Raft Trips is the perfect choice for those looking to experience the thrill and adventure of whitewater rafting on the Rio Grande in Northern New Mexico. Class 3 whitewater rapids — The Race Course — is approximately 6 miles in length, providing plenty of opportunities for excitement and several places to stop for a refreshing swim or jump off the rocks. Our rafting on the Rio Grande trips are designed to be enjoyed by children aged 6 and up making them the perfect activity for the whole family!
MOST TRIPS INCLUDE
We supply all the equipment needed for your Rio Grande white water rafting trip: boat, jacket, paddle, wetsuit, booties, warm fuzzy clothing, dry bags, return shuttle, & experienced Rio Grande River Guide.
YOU BRING
Hat, sunscreen, water bottle, quick drying clothes (synthetics work best), wear bathing suits on hot days with a sweater or light jacket on cool days. Soft sole shoes or sandals with heel straps. Cotton is not recommended.

Rock Climbing Adventures

Beginner Rock Climbing
No experience necessary. Ages 7 to 80. General introduction to technique and procedure. Hands on instruction includes: climbing communication, safety procedures and moving on the rock. The first time climbers will be introduced to varying degrees of height and difficulty, gradually. You will be introduced to basic knots, belay and rappel techniques. This course is designed to be a fun and accessible climbing adventure for everyone.
Intermediate Rock Climbing
For rock climbers with previous experience but still limited skills. We will review of the basic knots, rope handling and safety procedures. The Rock Climbs are easy to moderate in difficulty. Emphasis is on improving climbing technique. We can help you make the transition from the indoor climbing wall to the rock face with ease.
Advanced Rock Climbing
For confident, experienced rock climbers ready for a more difficult challenge. This includes multipitch climbs of increasing difficulty. Instruction in leading with a top rope belay. Tips on rope handling and sport climbing techniques will be covered in this climbing adventure.
